## About

Jim Martens builds and scales Kubernetes applications. At HBT, he writes the journey planning backend for the hvv switch transit app, focusing on modernizing legacy services for the cloud.

He openly shares lessons from production failures. In a recent session on failed product launches, he broke down an incident where an unexpected storm overloaded an Azure cluster. He highlighted exactly which Kubernetes configurations failed to scale under pressure and why early performance profiling is critical.

Outside of work, Jim is a strong supporter of public transport and the Deutschlandticket.
