Achim helps teams build observability practices at Splunk. With roots in full-stack development and performance engineering, he focuses on making open standards work in real-world systems.

He spends his time guiding developers away from proprietary agents and toward open ecosystems. In his recent workshop, he walked developers through instrumenting services with OpenTelemetry libraries and manipulating telemetry data with the OpenTelemetry Collector.

When he isn't juggling containers, he considers himself a professional stargazer.
