# Alan Torrance

## About

Alan leads engineering for the global payments system at JPMorganChase, managing infrastructure that moves roughly $10 trillion a day. He focuses on practical developer workflows, figuring out how engineers and AI tools like Claude Code actually build software together in production.

He serves as a Docker Captain and sits on the OpenUK Financial Advisory Board. In his workshops, he teaches developers how to rapidly wire up real financial APIs using open-source MCP servers.

Based in Glasgow, Alan is a recovering vet-turned-chemist-turned-engineer who founded Make It Happen, a program teaching digital creation to kids.
