# Alexis Yushin
Founder and CTO at Apexive, building rapid software solutions.

## About

Alexis Yushin runs Apexive, an agency focused on rapid software development. He got his start in networking early, helping bring internet access to Ukraine at age 16 before moving to the Netherlands to build NSD, a foundational program for internet domain resolution.

His engineering background includes roles at Skype, SpareIO, and Blink. In his talk on software architecture, Alexis breaks down how to choose between REST, GraphQL, and gRPC in Django. He treats APIs as firewalls that let both sides of a system evolve independently.

Before returning to tech to launch his agency, he flew as a private jet pilot and a Scandinavian Airlines captain.
