# Beth Rudden

## About

Beth Rudden runs Bast AI, building healthcare AI that traces every answer back to its exact source record. She still writes code. Previously, she spent twenty-five years at IBM as a Distinguished Engineer and Chief Data Officer, securing over thirty patents and founding their data science profession.

She sat on IBM promotion boards and actively worked to balance the gender ratio in leadership. Her talk on AI and sponsorship explores how automation threatens employee visibility and career advancement. 

Beth originally studied archaeology, which drives her focus on data provenance today.
