At CID, he researches how specialized Small Language Models can address the latency and prompt injection risks of larger foundation models. His work evaluates exactly when these smaller models can replace or outperform larger ones in agentic applications, exploring techniques like distillation via synthetic data and reinforcement learning from verifiable rewards.
