# Daniël van Eeden
Database engineer at PingCAP scaling distributed SQL and unpacking MySQL protocols.

## About

Daniël van Eeden works on distributed databases as a Technical Support Engineer at PingCAP. Previously, he tackled MySQL scaling for a large hotel booking platform. Outside of his daily job, he contributes to open-source tools, notably maintaining the MySQL protocol dissector in Wireshark.

His talks dive into database internals, architecture, and network protocols. He explores how systems like TiDB evolve layer by layer, and breaks down lesser-known developer tools like MySQL's Session Tracking, Connection Attributes, and zstd compression.
