# Jack McCauley
Hardware engineer, Oculus co-founder, and creator of the Guitar Hero controller.

## About

Jack McCauley designs hardware that changes how people interact with computers. He co-founded Oculus VR as chief engineer, driving the development of the original headsets. Before that, he built the iconic guitars and drums for the *Guitar Hero* franchise.

His engineering footprint goes back decades—he invented the scrolling wheel mouse in 1987 and helped author the original USB specification. Currently a professor at UC Berkeley, his talks break down how early video game GPUs laid the mathematical groundwork for modern AI.
