## About

James Watters builds and scales modern application platforms. He currently shapes technical strategy for the Tanzu division at Broadcom as CTO. Before the Broadcom acquisition, he served as CTO of Modern Application Platforms at VMware and was a founding leader at Pivotal Software.

His work now focuses on the next evolution of enterprise software: systems designed for AI agents. He explores how APIs, permissions, and interfaces must fundamentally change when machines, rather than humans, are the ones logging in to complete tasks.
