# Jan Curn

## About

Jan Curn builds tools that extract internet data for AI models. As the founder and CEO of Apify, he focuses on web scraping automation that feeds up-to-date information directly into RAG pipelines and smart assistants.

His recent work explores the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and how AI interacts with local tools. He speaks on improving agent reliability by combining MCP with native CLIs, alongside the raw mechanics of scraping modern, bot-protected websites.

Jan holds a PhD in computer science. He splits his time between San Francisco and Prague, frequently organizing local developer meetups.
