# Joe Monastiero
Founder of visualAI building AI-native commerce discovery and agentic search.

## About

Joe Monastiero builds AI commerce discovery systems. As the founder of visualAI, he develops an API platform that powers multimodal search, virtual try-on, and agentic product catalogs.

After 25 years on the business side of tech, he recently decided to write the code himself. Relying on AI coding assistants, he built visualAI's entire production stack from scratch in 16 months. He regularly speaks about how traditional retail search breaks down when queried by AI shopping agents.

Originally trained as a chemical engineer, Joe made the leap to developer without formal software engineering experience.
