## About

Marco Emrich builds robust software systems as a consultant and crafter at codecentric. He focuses on practical software craftsmanship, authoring several programming books and regularly sharing his approaches at tech conferences.

Much of his recent work challenges the idea that standard unit tests are enough. He advocates for using mutation testing tools like Stryker to prove whether a test suite can actually catch bugs, rather than just hitting a coverage metric.

Based in Nuremberg, he organizes the local Softwerkskammer developer meetup. When he isn't running events, he is likely teaching his son how to program robotic turtles.
