# Monica Sarbu
Founder of Xata, building agent-native Postgres for AI workflows.

## About

Monica Sarbu builds data infrastructure for AI workflows. As the founder and CEO of Xata, she creates agent-native Postgres systems that let teams branch production databases safely. She focuses on how agentic systems are changing database requirements, from isolation models to latency expectations.

Before starting Xata, Monica built Packetbeat, an open-source monitoring tool that Elastic acquired to create Elastic Beats. She is also the founder of Tupu.io, a nonprofit offering free mentorship for underrepresented people entering tech.

When she isn't rethinking databases, Monica travels and explores the world with her daughter.
