# Nikita Pavlichenko
Building code-specialized language models as Head of Mellum at JetBrains.

## About

Nikita Pavlichenko leads the team behind Mellum, JetBrains' open-source language models tailored for code. He is the senior author of Mellum2 and built the underlying code-completion pipeline used across JetBrains IDEs.

His work focuses on training large-scale, multilingual coding AI. He teaches machine learning engineers how to distribute model training and handle noisy repositories using NVIDIA NeMo. Before JetBrains, he researched LLM alignment at Toloka, publishing at NeurIPS and SIGIR.

He holds an MSc in Computer Science and is based in Berlin.
