Sohaib Ahmad builds fast, compact text-to-speech models. As the CEO of Neuphonic, he focuses on making voice AI more private, responsive, and easier to run on-device or on-premise.

He advocates for using smaller models when building real-time applications. His work explores how developers can treat model size as a product decision to achieve low latency and offline reliability, rather than defaulting to heavy cloud systems.

Before studying speech and machine learning at Cambridge University, Sohaib spent a decade working as a quant trader.
