# Sohan Maheshwar
Developer advocate at AuthZed focused on scalable authorization and cloud infrastructure.

## About

Sohan Maheshwar helps engineers build scalable authorization systems at AuthZed. He started out building mobile apps before shifting to cloud infrastructure, spending the last decade at companies like Amazon, Fermyon, and Gupshup.

He breaks down complex distributed systems into approachable concepts. His talk on [AI/ML sustainability](/videos/570-optimizing-your-ai-ml-workloads-for-sustainability) explored how to reduce the carbon footprint of compute-heavy infrastructure. Today, he focuses on Relationship-Based Access Control (ReBAC) and the engineering blueprint behind Google Zanzibar.

Based in the Netherlands, Sohan spends his free time playing frisbee, making visual art, or brushing up on trivia.
