Database Architect at SYSTEMA Art of Automation

Mandatory skills:

• Professional experience with relational database management systems emphasizing on MS SQL server
• Multi-year project experience in designing, implementing and optimizing complex data models with a focus on performance, high availability and robustness in 24x7 operations
• Know-how with the semantical, logical and physical design of data models
• Experience with database query design and optimization
• Very good understanding of principles and techniques of transaction processing and transaction safety
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant field, or equivalent IT working experience

Additional skills:

• Experience with Java or C#
• Experience with Angular and Typescript
• Knowledge about database cloud architectures, MS Azure SQL
• Experience with T-SQL development
• Communication and presentation skills in English and German

Databases are at the core of the automation solutions for manufacturing execution control which we design, develop and deploy for our customers in the high-tech industry. These databases have complex data models and handle several 100GB of data with a large number of transactions. In addition, high demands are made on availability, reliability, robustness, performance, data integrity and long-term maintainability.
Based on these challenging requirements you design, develop and improve the data model and drive the database implementation in close cooperation with the application developers.

In addition, you improve databases that are already used in production and implement concepts for data archiving and purging.

You lead architecture design and modeling decisions for database development and have an advisory role for customers and to colleagues.
