A CONVINCING BACKGROUND

• Good experience with Python (and/or Go), software engineering concepts, algorithms, data structures and best practice.
• Good technical and development experience of distributed/replicated MySQL databases and experience with NoSQL databases (ElasticSearch, DynamoDb, MongoDB, etc.) and data warehouse systems like BigQuery.
• Good track record of successful ETL or ELT projects as well building solutions to manipulate data between multiple sources.
• Automated testing, clean code and code coverage is just as important to you as production code.
• You’re into agile methodologies and enjoy working in teams with a focus on sharing knowledge.
• Great English communication skills.
• Your eye for details enables you to meet your high-quality expectations and reach ambitious goals in a role with high visibility within kununu - a part of New Work SE.

A CHALLENGING TASK

• Data is an integral part of kununu and it has a high priority in our strategy. We look for someone who wants to contribute to make kununu a better service for our audience and to create transparency for better business decisions.
• Work together with other teams towards integrating new sources into our data warehouse.
• Installation, monitoring, fault analysis and troubleshooting, performance optimization and documentation of all our DBs.
• Build, maintain and improve rock solid data pipelines using a broad range of technologies.
• Develop new data structures and distributed and scalable algorithms.
• Keep up-to-date with knowledge about new, cutting-edge data processing and data mining technology and also get an overview about trends related to data mining algorithms, machine learning, etc.
• Act as a data ambassador promoting the value of data and our data platform among engineering teams and enabling cooperation.
• Scientific and technical publications are possible and encouraged.

• Due to legal requirements in Austria, we are obliged to state the minimum salary for this position. Our salary range for this position starts at 45.000 €. Based on your experience and qualifications, our final offer will be a competitive market value-based salary.
