Job description

  • The Deskside Support Engineer - Level 1 is responsible for providing first-level technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing,and resolving technical problems in a timely and professional manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in the IT support domain.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Provide hands-on support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues at the user's desk or remotely.

  • Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and applications.

  • Assist with basic network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN).

  • Support Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, and common enterprise applications.

User Assistance

  • Respond to support requests via ticketing system, email, phone, or walk-ups.

  • Document issues and resolutions accurately in the helpdesk system.

  • Educate users on best practices and basic troubleshooting steps.

  • Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2/3 support or relevant teams.

Asset & Inventory Management

  • Maintain records of IT assets including laptops, monitors, and accessories.

  • Assist with hardware deployment, relocation, and recovery.

  • Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on equipment.

Process & Compliance

  • Follow standard operating procedures and IT policies.* Ensure compliance with security protocols and data protection guidelines.

  • Participate in onboarding/offboarding processes (device setup, account provisioning).

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 0-2 years of experience in IT support or helpdesk environment.

  • Basic understanding of Windows OS, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCP) are a plus.
