Job description

The IT specialist has an innate sense to help and support colleagues and clients in resolving IT issues., Reporting to the IT Manager, the essential functions of the position include:
- Replacing the Manager during their absence
- Handling tasks assigned by the Manager
- Ensuring the continuous operation of the hotel's systems, including but not limited to networks, applications, interfaces, servers
- Complying with the IT security policy regarding hardware, software, and data confidentiality
- Troubleshooting issues on Book4Time, Oracle Opera Cloud, Silverware, Microsoft Active Directory, internet, and other hotel systems
- Providing top-level technical support for all internal employees, ensuring quick and effective resolution of daily IT problems such as hardware failures, software issues, network connection difficulties, and file access, etc.
- Supporting employees (60% of the time) and clients (20% of the time) at the IT level
- Coordinating IT projects with the IT Manager
- Creating procedures and documentation for IT systems
- Ensuring adequate backup of all data
- Training employees on the use of IT systems and software
- Analyzing software and hardware problems to detect/correct deficiencies, malfunctions, and irregularities
- Ensuring compliance with established procedures, system security, internal controls, and standards
- Staying informed of the latest technologies available on the market
- Ensuring data confidentiality and data processing according to group standards and policies and legal norms
- Respecting ergonomic work standards in health & safety rules
- Respecting the security policy and Fairmont standards
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- 5 years of experience related to the IT field (including apprenticeship)
- Fluency in French
- Very good knowledge of English
- IT Federal Certificate of Competence or technical diploma in a related discipline as well as certifications in the field
- Network and server management and knowledge of fiber optic, Ethernet, and patching connections (patch panel)
- Level 1 and 2 support
- Understanding of hotel applications is an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Particularly responsible, reliable, and autonomous
- Strong stress resistance
- Ability to focus attention on guests' needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Proven ability to provide proactive and reactive assistance, thus ensuring continuous productivity of employees and rapid resolution of daily IT challenges such as software management, network connectivity troubleshooting, file access management, etc.
- Innate sense of help and service, with a passion for assisting colleagues and clients in resolving IT problems
- Being multitasking, able to manage several requests simultaneously
- Ability to work in a team and respond to various client requests, To work in Switzerland, the candidate must possess a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
