Job description
We are looking for an experienced embedded software engineer with a firmware focus to strengthen our core R&D team. In this role, you will be the first dedicated firmware developer at Noxon, working closely with the CTO and a multidisciplinary team of engineers to bring our wearable medical electronics from development to production.
Your Main Tasks
· Take ownership of the firmware architecture and implementation, using C, Nordic SDK, and Zephyr RTOS
· Develop production-ready firmware across key domains such as BLE communication, power management, and sensor integration
· Optimize system performance (incl. battery efficiency, latency, signal stability)
· Debug, test, and validate using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and custom test setups
· Ensure robustness and scalability via modular design, documentation, and adherence to quality/safety standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485)
· Drive the transition from prototype to production, including versioning, CI, and release management
· Collaborate closely with our electronics and software engineers at the interface between hardware, firmware, and application software
· Contribute proactively to an agile R&D environment, improving tools, workflows, and development processes
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, · Degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field
· Professional experience in designing and developing embedded systems, ideally in medical devices
· Proficiency in C programming and embedded architecture; experience in real-time operating systems (preferably ZephyrRTOS) and microcontroller platforms (preferably Nordic SDK)
· Practical experience with BLE, hardware bring-up, interpreting datasheets, and lab-based debugging (ex. oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
· Analytical and solution-oriented mindset; able to work independently and make reasonable technical decisions
· Fluent in English and willing to work on-site in our offices in Munich
