Job description

We are looking for an experienced embedded software engineer with a firmware focus to strengthen our core R&D team. In this role, you will be the first dedicated firmware developer at Noxon, working closely with the CTO and a multidisciplinary team of engineers to bring our wearable medical electronics from development to production.

Your Main Tasks

· Take ownership of the firmware architecture and implementation, using C, Nordic SDK, and Zephyr RTOS

· Develop production-ready firmware across key domains such as BLE communication, power management, and sensor integration

· Optimize system performance (incl. battery efficiency, latency, signal stability)

· Debug, test, and validate using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and custom test setups

· Ensure robustness and scalability via modular design, documentation, and adherence to quality/safety standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485)

· Drive the transition from prototype to production, including versioning, CI, and release management

· Collaborate closely with our electronics and software engineers at the interface between hardware, firmware, and application software

· Contribute proactively to an agile R&D environment, improving tools, workflows, and development processes

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, · Degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field

· Professional experience in designing and developing embedded systems, ideally in medical devices

· Proficiency in C programming and embedded architecture; experience in real-time operating systems (preferably ZephyrRTOS) and microcontroller platforms (preferably Nordic SDK)

· Practical experience with BLE, hardware bring-up, interpreting datasheets, and lab-based debugging (ex. oscilloscope, logic analyzer)

· Analytical and solution-oriented mindset; able to work independently and make reasonable technical decisions

· Fluent in English and willing to work on-site in our offices in Munich

About the company

Noxon is a deep-tech startup founded in 2022 with the vision to transform health on every skin - starting with your muscles. 30% of people worldwide struggle with muscle health challenges. To tackle this crisis, Noxon developed a non-invasive muscle-computer-interface: a medical wearable that translates muscle signals into code and conversely sends movement programs back into the muscle to trigger and correct movements. Guided by our purpose - moving what matters - we build technology that improves lives. We foster an environment where meaningful work and people who care come together to turn ideas into reality.
