Job description
As we scale up, we're looking for a structured and collaborative Data Steward to ensure the reliability, freshness, and accuracy of the data powering GRADIENT. This role sits at the heart of our organization, connecting Data Engineering, Analytics, and Product teams, and ensuring that both internal and client-facing data is trustworthy and actionable., In this role, you'll take ownership of organisational data quality at Coolgradient. You'll be the first point of contact for any data-related questions and act as the guardian of data quality across our stack. You'll investigate anomalies, monitor freshness, validate calculations, and coordinate remediation across teams, while also helping us make data quality monitoring more automated and scalable as we grow.
Your day-to-day impact includes:

Triage and investigate data questions, explaining findings clearly to stakeholders.

Implement checks for freshness, completeness, correctness, and schema/mapping changes.

Validate calculations across models, services, and UI/API to ensure consistent and accurate metrics.

Assist in resolving data issues by investigating anomalies, providing clear context, and working with the right teams to restore quality.

Review data-impacting changes before release to ensure safety and correctness.

Define acceptance criteria for new sources or data points, including expected refresh cadences.

Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Science to build scalable processes and tools that keep our growing data ecosystem healthy.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Tableau?, * 2-5 years of experience in data quality, data analytics, or data engineering roles.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with modern warehouse/ELT practices (Snowflake, dbt).
- Comfortable working with Python for data validation and light automation.
- Experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Structured, organized, and pragmatic mindset with excellent communication skills.
- Adaptable team player who can take ownership and collaborate across multiple teams to develop scalable data quality solutions.
- Nice to haves: scheduler (Prefect/Airflow), observability/testing (Great Expectations, Soda, Monte Carlo, or similar), APIs, git-based reviews., If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
