Job description
At Helin Data, we're building the digital foundation for a smarter, more resilient energy system. As an Energy System Engineer, you'll design and develop the software that powers our Helin Edge Node - the core technology enabling secure, real-time data processing at the edge of energy infrastructure.
In this role, you'll help shape the next generation of distributed intelligence. You'll work on integrating industrial communication protocols, developing on-site logic for our edge platform, and ensuring smooth deployment and operation for our clients in the energy and utilities sectors.
You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data specialists, and project managers to turn complex technical challenges into elegant, scalable solutions. Your work will have a tangible impact on how critical energy assets are monitored, optimised, and maintained - contributing directly to the global transition toward sustainable energy systems.
You are hands-on, love machines and solving technical problems. You can create, test, troubleshoot, and implement your solutions.
What You'll Achieve
- Contribute our dedicated team connecting Helin's software with hardware systems
- Improve the performance of our clients'energy assets
- Build and maintain real-time control logic
- Prototype and design scalable system architectures
- Work with Docker, Azure, and Linux to extend platform capabilities
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software troubleshooting?, * At least 3 years of proven hands-on experience working with
- IOT/Embedded devices and real-time controllers such as PLCs
- Java/Python or scripting languages (MATLAB, etc)
- Version management and proper testing
- Strong troubleshooting skills and system-level thinking
- High level of curiosity and creative thinking, * Familiarity with communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, OPC UA
- Affinity with energy systems and field hardware
- Knowledge of edge computing and industrial networking
