Junior Frontend Developer

Seeking a motivated Junior Frontend Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of user-facing components across multiple digital platforms and websites. The role involves working collaboratively with designers, developers, and delivery teams to build accessible, responsive, and high-performing web interfaces.

The Junior Frontend Developer will assist in implementing new features, maintaining existing codebases, and ensuring alignment with design and accessibility standards. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in web technologies who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to high-quality digital products.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain front-end features for websites and web applications.
• Translate design wireframes and prototypes into responsive, accessible web interfaces.
• Work with senior developers and designers to ensure consistency across digital platforms.
• Support the integration of frontend components with backend systems and APIs.
• Ensure all code adheres to accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA), performance, and security best practices.
• Contribute to cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure high-quality user experiences.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and version control practices (Git).
• Collaborate within Agile delivery teams, attending sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying areas for optimisation in code and workflows.
• Stay up to date with the latest frontend trends, frameworks, and technologies.

Do you have experience in React?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Some professional or project-based experience in frontend web development.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular (React preferred).
• Understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first development.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git/GitHub).
• Awareness of accessibility and web performance optimisation techniques.
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and how to integrate them into web applications.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Interest in learning new technologies and best practices in frontend development.
