Job description
We are seeking an experienced Integration, Verification, Validation, Qualification and Acceptance System Engineer to join our small UK Integration & Test team. As an IVVQA Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for integration and test of complex navigation and bridge systems for Naval Combatants & Maritime Surveillance Systems projects. The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and be an effective problem solver able to work under their own initiative as a prominent member of the team., Contribution to the technical part of the customer requirements, generation of input for the project plan, system specification and product documentation
Involvement in test management regarding the engineering project (effort, cost, tasks, etc.)
Creation of test specifications, test plans for integration and system testing
Participation in development reviews (peer reviews, technical reviews, etc.)
Testing and acceptance (verification and validation) of systems and software including customer acceptance events such as FAT, HAT and SAT
Support systems and software engineers regarding debugging and root cause analysis of deviations / problems
Where necessary conduct configuration Repair and Test of customer returned items.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Visio?, Test and integration planning of complex systems
Building, configuring and fault diagnosis of PC based systems and networking.
Use of Tools such as DOORS, SVN, MS Office, Visio, JIRA
Working as part of an agile development team (SCRUM).
Desirable Skills:
Software and systems development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Publish-subscribe middleware architectures such as DDS
Configuration & Test of network infrastructure including switching, routing, encryption, security, optimisation, VLAN's, VM's.
Ability to create software test and deployment utilities using high level languages/scripting eg. Python.
Testing marine electronics systems including radar systems, Electronic chart systems, Navigation aids and steering control systems.
Knowledge of Naval systems integration standards and practices.
ISTQB certification at foundation level
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Passion for learning and staying up to date with new technologies.
Education
HNC or equivalent in electrical/electronic engineering or related technical field
