Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable First Line Subsea NOC Engineer to join our operations team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and performance of subsea infrastructure through real-time monitoring, incident response, and ticket management. You will be the first responder to system alarms and alerts, ensuring swift triage and escalation of issues to maintain operational continuity. Our Network Operations Center (NOC) operates 24/7/365 to ensure continuous service availability. As an integral part of the team, you will participate in the rotating shift schedule.
Shift Pattern 12-hour shifts, 4 days on, 4 days off with a rotation between day and night shifts.
Security Vetting Applicants must have no known reason that could prevent the successful completion of security clearance, for both vetting and green-listing processes., * Monitor subsea and terrestrial DWDM cable infrastructure using vendor Network Management Systems, DCN monitoring tools, and internally developed management systems.
- Perform first-line fault detection, analysis, and resolution of system anomalies.
- Manage trouble tickets from creation to closure, ensuring accurate documentation and timely escalation.
- Coordinate with remote hands teams and second line engineers to resolve complex issues.
- Maintain detailed logs and incident reports in line with operational standards.
- Support scheduled maintenance and system health checks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring and alerting processes.
Requirements

Experience working with demanding customers in a global NOC environment.

Proficiency in trouble ticketing systems (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira) and incident management workflows.

Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and reporting abilities.

Comfortable working in a rotating shift schedule.
Technical Requirements:

Familiarity with subsea and terrestrial DWDM cable systems, test equipment and data analysis.

Experience with network management systems and subsea monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Certifications in ITIL, DWDM transmission supplier training courses or similar frameworks.
Desirable Qualifications

Degree or HND in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
