Job description
As a Data Analyst, the individual will be responsible for collecting and analysing data across the business unit to support stakeholders and assist team members and leadership in making informed, data-driven decisions., * Analyse business needs and deliver accurate, actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making
- Support stakeholders in identifying reporting needs, prioritising data requests, and communicating status updates
- Plan and execute activities such as data cleansing, data migration, data modelling & mapping
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets.
- Provide regular reports and analysis to different management or leadership teams.
- Working closely with the business intelligence team to identify required data for business unit metrics.
- Produce a range of standard and nonstandard statistical and data analysis reports to support the business unit's needs.
- Produce performance dashboards and reports to aid visualisation and support the business unit's needs.
- Projects and Reporting
- Effectively manage the delivery of data and analytics
- Support business projects by effectively communicating with stakeholders to provide business updates.
- Create various business documents as required to support central and local management teams.
- Work with BI and internal teams to provide a streamlined delivery process, looking to improve and create efficiencies where appropriate.
- Contribute to business and project review meetings.
- Communication
- Ensure all communications are effectively managed and shared with the team as appropriate.
- Producing reports and charts communicating trends within data to non-specialists.
- Continuous Improvement
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and initiatives, recommending and implementing as appropriate to ensure we remain current with new technology.
- Researching new ways to make use of data.
- Provide data and analytics to assist continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Analytics, Business Intelligence, Analytical Skills, Data Migration, Ease, Data Warehousing, Microsoft Office, Excel, Data Analytics, * Undergraduate degree (in data analytics or IT functions desirable)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and an advanced level of Excel required
- Experience in a relevant business intelligence or data analyst role, with a strong focus on analytics, experience in data warehousing, data cleansing, data migration, data modelling & mapping.
- Experience of working with various data sources, BI and integration tools. Alteryx experience is desirable.
- Understands the principles of the data life cycle and the steps involved in carrying out routine data analysis tasks
- Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic and self-aware, adapting style to the situation with excellent inter-personal skills - able to build a rapport at any level.
- Analytical, always looking for ways around the problem.
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
- Able to learn new systems quickly.
- At ease working under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Good at getting into the details and confident in presenting information to a varied audience.
Benefits & conditions
The role will be located at our site in Northampton (NN4 5FB) and offers a salary of £33,000 per year., * 25 days' holiday (excluding bank holidays) and 5 days of Volunteer Leave per year
