Job description

  • Conduct Annual Engineering Inspections (AEI) through walked or driven visual surveys.
  • Work on-site and outdoors, either independently or as part of a team.
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed at all times.
  • Maintain and care for specialist equipment provided for the role.
  • Accurately collect, record, and submit inspection data in a timely manner.
  • Assist in site supervision and project coordination.
  • Be flexible to work extended hours and weekends when required.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Microsoft Office?, Do you have a GCSE?, * GCSE Maths & English (Grade C or above).

  • Ability to identify pavement failure mechanisms and recommend treatment options.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Understanding of maps, geographical data, and infrastructure layouts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and web-based applications.
  • A strong work ethic with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Full UK Driving License (Category B) with 6 points or less (if under 25, access to own vehicle required).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • HNC in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in pavement engineering or local authority highways departments.
  • Membership with ICE or MCIHT.
  • Experience with pavement design, asset management principles, and CAD packages.
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing techniques (Deflectograph, FWD, DCP, etc.).
  • Understanding of pavement construction and maintenance methods.
