Job description
We're looking for a hands-on Network Infrastructure Engineer who takes real pride in their work - someone who sees a messy cabinet and can't rest until it's fixed properly.
If you enjoy creating order, documenting systems, and knowing exactly where every cable leads, this is your kind of role.
You'll join a team that's actively improving and standardising how we manage our infrastructure. You'll take ownership of the networks, make them cleaner, faster, and more reliable - and you'll have the freedom and backing to do things properly.
What You'll Be Doing
- Audit and document network cabinets across all sites.
- Plan and lead the removal of unmanaged switches.
- Own and maintain the network stack - Fortinet firewalls, Cisco routing, VLANs, Wi-Fi, and VPNs.
- Manage and optimise Microsoft 365, including Intune and user access.
- Maintain Cloudflare DNS and PRTG monitoring.
- Support Windows Server, VMware, and Veeam where needed.
- Help support our VOIP system and in-house bespoke CRM.
- Take part in the on-call rota (1 week on / 1 week off, allowance paid).
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in VoIP?, You'll thrive in this role if you are:
- Confident with networking technologies - Fortinet, Cisco, VLANs, routing, and firewalls.
- Comfortable managing Microsoft 365 environments and integrations.
- A clear communicator - you explain problems simply, not in jargon.
- A team player - you'll pick up a support call when needed, no ego.
- Naturally curious - you dig into things until they're fixed properly.
Desirable certifications: Fortinet NSE4+, CCNA (or equivalent hands-on experience)., * network hardware : 4 years (required)

The Setup
- Hours: 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday.
- Location: Bury, Greater Manchester site (onsite role).
- Travel: Required to other group sites (Speedy - London, Beesleys - Oldbury) - mileage covered / pool car available.
- Team: Reports to Group Head of IT Infrastructure & Cyber Security, with supervisory support from Lee Redfern.
- Users: 400+ across multiple sites.
