Job description
An Infrastructure Network Operations Engineer is required by Whitehall Resources for our client based in Oxfordshire. This is a permanent position requiring 3 days onsite each week, with the remainder worked remotely.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring robust hybrid cloud connectivity and resilient IT services. You will work within a global environment, collaborating with other IT teams, maintaining performance across global sites, and contributing to infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating and managing enterprise network infrastructures across LAN, WAN (MPLS/SDWAN/VPN), and cloud environments?
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, STP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and VPN?
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, Forescout NAC, and Fortinet FortiGate firewalls?
- Experience managing Azure networking services such as vNets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, and ExpressRoute?
- Skills in monitoring network performance with tools such as SolarWinds, and troubleshooting using Wireshark or similar packet analysis tools?
- A background in enterprise network engineering with excellent problem-solving and documentation skills?
