Job description
Application: We love your interest in joining Airbus! There is no limit on the number of positions you can apply for, however, please be aware that you can only progress in the selection process for one position at a time . We recommend reviewing all available opportunities and applying to those that best match your experience and aspirations. AI Guidance: We know you might be thinking about using AI to help you in your application - before you do, please read our guidelines on the use of AI for recruitment at Airbus http://airbus.com/en/careers/use-of-ai. Apply early to avoid missing out - we may close adverts once we receive sufficient applications., Being able to explain the outcome of an AI model is key to improve the acceptance of such algorithms in operations or to certification authorities. For instance, when a task is automatically assigned to a worker, the manager might need to understand the reasons why this worker and this task were chosen. Also, when a schedule is impossible to get given the constraints, it is crucial to understand how to relax these constraints to get a schedule that is acceptable. As part of your internship, you will therefore look into the latest concepts and algorithms that tackle the explainability of decision making algorithms. The skills you will develop will vary depending on the needs of the business, your own interests, and the expertise available on the team. Working in a research team, your focus will be on contributing to solving hard problems and creating proofs of concepts rather than implementing or optimizing existing solutions. You will work alongside highly educated scientists (often PhD level) with industrial experience, as well as collaborating with other parts of the business, and academic and other industry partners. You will gain experience in working with AI frameworks and workflows, as well as cloud computing, web services, etc. Training and onboarding will be provided, but you find it easier joining us if you have some understanding of or experience with: Python; TensorFlow; PyTorch; Keras; and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
We offer you some exciting tasks:
- Understand the basic concepts of decision making algorithms and customer use-cases;
- Carry on a comprehensive literature review and survey on recent explainability methods for decision making algorithms;
- Develop demonstrators in line with customer expectations integrating latest work developed on explainability of decision making for concept(s) and algorithm(s) for evaluation;
- Assess the performance of the achieved concept and algorithm on use-case data.
Requirements
- Studying towards a degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or equivalent;
- Experience in Python programming and use of common packages like Pandas, Matplotlib, Plotly, Networkx etc…;
- Knowledge of decision making algorithms;
- Ability to summarize findings in technical reports;
- You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
