Job description
A leading Financial Services client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis. The role combines core data engineering with AI focused work, including developing data Proof of Concepts and supporting advanced analytics.
You will design and deliver automated ETL pipelines, high performance data products, and scalable solutions using Python, SQL, and Snowflake. You will also work closely with analysts and data scientists to build reliable datasets, test new ideas, and help bring AI driven solutions into practical use., * Build and maintain automated ETL pipelines and performant data structures using Python and SQL.
- Manage and enhance a Snowflake environment across streaming and batch workflows.
- Develop data Proof of Concepts for AI and analytics use cases.
- Prototype new data workflows and explore emerging AI tools.
- Produce clean, reusable, well documented code that supports CI and CD practices.
- Partner with analysts and data scientists to prepare data for modelling and experimentation.
- Support platform innovation across Snowflake and Microsoft technologies.
Requirements
- Strong Python skills for data engineering and automation.
- Advanced SQL and experience building scalable data models.
- Production experience with Snowflake - beneficial
- Proven background designing and delivering ETL pipelines.
- Experience developing or contributing to data Proof of Concepts.
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Matillion - desirable.
- Comfortable working in an agile environment.
Benefits & conditions
The role offers a base salary of £60,000 to £75,000 plus strong benefits and very flexible working.
