Do you have experience in Project planning?, We have an exciting secondment opportunity for a motivated and highly driven Junior Project Manager to join our friendly and high performing PMO team on a secondment basis for a period of 12 months. You will assist and lead on both individual IT projects, stages of a larger project, or work streams of a programme with dependencies on other projects within the programme.

Special requirements for this post

• Proven knowledge, understanding and experience of working within an IT Projects environment. • Recognised Project Management methodology qualification (Prince2, Agile, PMI, etc.), or willingness to work towards . • Ability to travel to other locations as required.

About you

You will be a positive self-starter with experience working within a pivotal role in an IT project management environment. With knowledge of project planning, implementation and best practice methodologies, you will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective relationships with people from at all levels and backgrounds. Motivated to deliver, you will have: • Experience managing and/or assisting with multiple IT technical projects from the beginning to end. • Ability to prioritise conflicting schedules, working closely with project teams to ensure commitments and deadlines are met. • Strong people skills, with experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships. • Demonstrable experience of high-level analysis and problem-solving skills. • Ability to lead project team meetings, noting actions and tracking to completion. • Experience writing complex project related reports. • Knowledge of Council policies, procedures and visions.
