Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Join Abacum as a Senior Back End Engineer (Python) to build the future of Business Planning. We help finance teams shift from number crunching to strategic decision-making through automated reporting, collaborative planning, and simplified forecasting. Responsibilities * Collaborate closely with product designers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to experiment and test new ideas. * Build performant, design-centric, reusable, and usable interfaces, including complex data visualisations (graphs, charts, etc.) and delightful components that provide the best platform experience. * Drive user-defined data modelling and performance, providing users with customised building blocks such as models, variables, and formulas. * Take operational responsibility for the components you write, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability. * Work in an environment that supports individual growth by providing challenging tasks, freedom to acquire new skills, and hack time for experimentation. * Incorporate customer feedback with product and operations teams to constantly improve our product. * Scale our complex data and calculations platform to support a fast-growing number, size, and complexity of clients. Qualifications * Proven experience building complex, data-centric backend services in Python. * Deep understanding of performance, observability, and system design for large-scale data platforms. * Team player who is willing to learn quickly, owns work, and shapes technical design and engineering culture. * Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and a passion for ownership and ownership.
