Job description

  • Design and implement JavaCard applets according to functional and security requirements.
  • Develop and test APDU command handling for smart card communication.
  • Integrate cryptographic algorithms (AES, RSA, ECC, SHA) within applets.
  • Collaborate with security architects to ensure compliance with standards (ISO/IEC 7816, GlobalPlatform, EMV).
  • Optimize performance and memory usage for constrained environments.
  • Write technical documentation and support certification processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented JavaCard Applet and Software Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain applets for smart cards used in secure transactions, identity management, and cryptographic operations., * Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in Embedded Systems.

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
  • Proven experience in JavaCard development and smart card technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Java language and its limitations in JavaCard.
  • Familiarity with APDU protocol and card-reader communication.
  • Experience with cryptographic libraries and secure coding practices.
  • Knowledge of GlobalPlatform specifications and card personalization tools.
  • Proficiency with development tools such as JCOP Tools, GPShell, Eclipse, etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and test automation frameworks like Robot Framework.
  • Understanding of FIDO (Fast Identity Online) standards, including FIDO2 and WebAuthn protocols.
  • Knowledge of FIPS 140-3 compliance requirements and cryptographic module validation.

  • Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
  • Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess, or be able to acquire a valid passport.
