Job description

Autodesk is seeking a Cloud DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to join the Design to Construction group within the Autodesk Visualization Solutions organization. This group is responsible for products such as Design Collaboration and Model Coordination, and a range of supporting cloud services.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be part of an agile product team of smart and highly motivated engineers building world-class cloud software applications and services. You will build and maintain solutions around CI/CD infrastructure, test automation, cloud service instrumentation, and monitoring. As part of a global R&D team, located across several geos, you will partner closely with other Site Reliability Engineers and support our product teams in all aspects of operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to optimize our cloud and web release cycles

  • Work closely with our engineering teams to understand business requirements and build the necessary infrastructure to support them

  • Ensure operational aspects are considered in the day-to-day engineering work

  • Monitor, improve, and maintain the availability, resiliency, and scalability of every component in our Microservices architecture

  • Support product teams with solutions based on Autodesk standards and industry compliance programs such as SOC2 and FedRAMP

  • Work with peer Site Reliability Engineers across the world, strive toward teamwork, collaboration, and knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in a DevOps / SRE role

  • Good experience in software projects through the complete software product/development lifecycle

  • Experience with AWS serverless technologies, e.g., Lambda, Fargate, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Step Functions

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Serverless Framework)

  • Experience in designing and building CI/CD pipelines and working with common CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker)

  • Experience with Docker and maintaining applications deployed to Docker-based environments (e.g., AWS ECS)

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Splunk, Dynatrace, CatchPoint)

  • Experience with Git and GitHub

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, eager to learn and share their knowledge

  • Good self-management skills and the ability to track and prioritise multiple tasks coming in simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate

  • Experience with Agile development practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)

  • Knowledge of scripting languages, Python, and/or Bash

  • Knowledge of Jenkins pipeline-as-code

  • Knowledge of Cloud Architecture best practices
