Job description

You will be a an innovative, passionate and experienced IT Manager, ideally with experience of working in a Warehouse or logistics environment. As our IT Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the technology infrastructure for our growing 3PL business. You will be a hands on IT professional able to support our central head office team with their IT requirements as well as overseeing warehouse management systems (WMS) and core IT services across the UK business.

You will be a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with operational delivery, ensuring systems scale with business growth across multiple sites., * Infrastructure Management: Build and maintain IT networks, servers, and hardware across all sites.

  • Systems Oversight: Lead the selection, implementation, and successful embedding of both a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, ensuring seamless integrations that power our logistics operations. You will also collaborate with other departments to support and optimize their systems such as a HRIS.
  • Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect company and client data.
  • Change & Growth Support: Lead IT projects aligned with site expansions and new client implementations.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with external providers for software, hardware, and support services.
  • User Support: Provide first and second-line support to staff, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Compliance: Ensure IT practices comply with GDPR, data protection, and industry standards.
  • Innovation: Identify and deploy emerging technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Work with each sites IT Manager to ensure continuity around approach and implementation aligned to the group IT strategy
  • Support in the set-up of new sites and look after the central U team IT requirements

Requirements

Do you have experience in Warehouse management system?, * Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Previous experience within IT management, ideally within logistics, supply chain, or FMCG
  • Strong knowledge of WMS platforms and ERP systems
  • Experience in high-growth environments desirable
  • Proven track record in project delivery and system implementation
  • Experience of managing IT solution across a multi-site operation
  • Experience of successfully managing IT based projects including the selection and implementation of WMS for multi sites
  • Experience of writing and amending IT based policies to support the business security and processes for IT.
  • Hands-on technical expertise with strategic vision
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Commercial awareness and cost-control capability
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS) is desirable
  • Knowledge of automation, robotics, or IoT in logistics would be desirable although not essential
  • You may also have had exposure to ESG and sustainability-focused IT practices
