Job description
We currently have a vacancy for an Automation Engineer (DevOps,Puppet) to offer his/her services as an expert remotely within EU. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client's IT team on site.
Your Tasks:
- Operate and maintain Puppet Enterprise infrastructure;
- Ensure compliance of the servers with the agreed policy (fix unresponsive nodes, no-op nodes, etc.);
- Support colleagues and other teams with the adoption of Puppet Enterprise for their activities;
- Upgrade the software to the most recent version, to avoid being more than one version behind the market (e.g. to avoid security and error-prone upgrades, etc.);
- Contribute to the refactoring/improvements of the Puppet Enterprise infrastructure;
- Improve agent upgrades in-manifest/remove task dependency;
- Improve the security posture of Puppet Enterprise installation on our infrastructure.
Requirements
Do you have experience in UNIX?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * University Degree and at least 9 years of IT professional experience;
- More than 9 years of experience in ICT (e.g. as developer, system administrator, software engineer, infrastructure engineer, DevOps engineer, etc.);
- At least 5 years of experience in Puppet based configuration management design/architecture, development/configuration and deployment/administration, preferably on Red Hat 8+;
- At least 3 years of experience with IT operations and Linux/Unix Administration, preferably Red Hat 8+;
- Participation in a minimum of 3 projects involving Puppet Enterprise based solutions on Linux/Unix (or equivalent experience - large projects);
- Participation in a minimum of 2 projects involving server automation (deployment) and standardization through scripting (e.g. Powershell, Python, Bash, etc.);
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with an Agile methodology, preferably SCRUM;
- At least 3 years of experience working in an international/multi-cultural environment;
- Excellent knowledge of Puppet Enterprise based configuration management design/architecture, development/configuration and deployment/administration;
- Excellent knowledge of DevOps principles and best practices (continuous delivery, continuous integration, continuous deployment, use of automation to improve efficiency, feedback loops, fail fast, etc.);
- Puppet Enterprise Certification;
- Excellent command of the English language.
