NAVAL JAVA SOFTWARE ENGINEER (FUWES)

to take part in one of our development teams, which are multidisciplinary and self-organizing Scrum teams. In addition to software development, our teams are fully responsible for various aspects, such as requirements analysis, architecture, design, testing, validation and product demonstrations. The use of high-tech techniques and software development methods is important. The software of the Fire Control System is based both on Java and C++ and is supported by a modern development environment.

As a software engineer you are working with the other engineers on your agile team and the other agile teams in the same sub-domain. You work on designs and architecture with our software and system architects, and take into account security and safety aspects in your code and that of your team.

You will work (among others) with the following tools and techniques:

• Agile/Scrum software development
• Java, Linux, IntelliJ
• Continuous Integration & Delivery
• Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, GIT, BitBucket
• Unit Testing (Junit), Test Automation, Cucumber

• Is passionate about technology;
• Is a team-player;
• Wants to contribute to a safe and secure society;
• Graduated at least Bachelor level in the area of software engineering or similar with a talent for Java;
• Finds pleasure in rapidly mastering new domains and techniques;
• At least 5 years of recent, relevant professional experience in Java development;
• Available for 32-40 hrs per week
• Hybrid: 3 days in the office in Hengelo is minimum

The Above Water Warfare Fire Control System (AWW-FCS) protects ships and other units from above-water threats. These threats are becoming faster, smarter and more complex.
