Job description
- Develop, enhance, and maintain digital services using Node.js, Nunjucks, and React within DWP standards and architecture.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, user researchers, and other engineers in an agile environment.
- Build reusable components and libraries, ensuring maintainable and scalable codebases.
- Integrate APIs and microservices, focusing on performance, security, and accessibility.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and continuous improvement activities.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and solution architecture as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA).
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to wider teams.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js (backend services and API development).
- Proficiency with Nunjucks for templating and server-side rendering.
- Solid experience developing modern Front End applications using React.
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Understanding of security best practices, testing approaches, and CI/CD workflows.
- Ability to work effectively on-site with multi-disciplinary teams.
