Job description
MCS Group is looking for an experienced L2/L3 Network Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organisation on a 3 month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role, and is ideal for someone who has solid technical experience with networks, WIFI, and the Microsoft Productivity Suite. YOu will also play a key role in various improvement projects during a busy period of transition.
Working on-site inBallymena, you will play a part in supporting the company's IT operations, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of its network and systems. This Network Engineer will be involved in day-to-day management and configuration of the infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, implementing configuration changes, and contributing to wider infrastructure enhancements.
The Role:
- Provide hands-on support for LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi.
- Assist with the management of SD-WAN, switches, routers and Wi-Fi systems.
- Carry out configuration changes, upgrades, and ensure accurate documentation of systems.
- Support cloud and network improvement projects, including Wi-Fi and Printing.
- Get involved in a MS Teams migration across the business.
Requirements
- You will have solid L2 or L3 Networking Experience, including experience supporting, designing, and managing IT infrastructure across servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
- Having hands on experience with MS Tenants is essential.
- You must have experience of going into a system as a tenant, and configuring it.
- This role also requires knowledge of incident response and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Proven background in network administration and infrastructure support.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and core network technologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, on-prem Active Directory, and Group Policies.
- Cybersecurity and firewall experience would be preferable, but not essential.
