Working Student System Administration

Your mission is to support our internal IT infrastructure and ensure that our local servers, networks and hardware operate reliably. You work closely with our infrastructure team and help keep our engineering operations running smoothly.

You support the maintenance of our Proxmox server environment, carry out hardware changes, keep our inventory up to date and assist with network configuration and troubleshooting.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Support the operation and maintenance of our local server landscape based on Proxmox
• Perform hardware changes, upgrades and small repairs
• Maintain and update the internal hardware inventory
• Assist with network maintenance, configurations and troubleshooting
• Document changes, configurations and IT-related processes
• Collaborate with the engineering team to implement IT requirements
• Support general office IT tasks such as device setup, workplace preparation or small support requests, * Flat hierarchy, small teams, flexible hours
• Early ownership, influence technical direction

• Enrolled student in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field
• Basic understanding of Linux-based systems
• First experience with server administration or virtualization (e.g. Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V)
• Interest in hardware, networking fundamentals and system maintenance
• Structured way of working, ability to complete tasks independently and willingness to acquire new knowledge on your own
• Good English skills, spoken and written, because we work in an international environment

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Proxmox or similar virtualization solutions
• Basic knowledge of networking such as VLANs, routing or firewall configuration
• Experience working with server hardware or rack infrastructure
• Some familiarity with monitoring, logging or backup concepts
• First experience documenting IT systems
