Job description

You will be responsible for ensuring that the LNER digital delivery governance process is followed and making sure that the correct activities, resources, and budgets are being organized appropriately to ensure expected outcomes are achieved and delivered against company strategy, commitments and goals.

You will also be involved in:

  • Proactively managing dependencies, overcoming obstacles and getting the best value against constraints.
  • Adhering to and evolving the Portfolio Framework.
  • Working with key stakeholders to deliver projects to agreed timescales, and to budget.
  • Exercising control over projects so they are delivered in a predictable manner.
  • Proactive risk and issue management to minimise delay.
  • Quality management to ensure outputs are fit for purpose and fit for use.
  • Stakeholder management and proactive communication so they feel like customers who have visibility and control.
  • Handover to BAU in a safe manner so production stability is maintained.
  • Reporting on and measuring the success of projects and workstreams (both customer and business benefits, including NAS impacts, revenue and cost) throughout project delivery.
  • Financial and commercial understanding, with a key focus on tracking and reporting progress and cost lines.
  • Establishing and maintaining key relationships with both internal project managers and suppliers to facilitate feasible, timely and cost-effective contract and project delivery., If you are successful in your application and are new to the business, we will undertake a basic DBS check as part of our pre-employment checks. Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical project management?, We're looking for a proactive professional with a proven track record in project and change management, business process optimisation, and stakeholder collaboration. This role also requires:

  • Previous experience within a technical project management role (desirable).
  • Ability to manage and lead a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to implement change within a large organisation.
  • Business development and negotiation experience.
  • Proactivity and strong organisation skills.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative skills, team player.
  • Strong risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies management.
  • Experience in budget management and controls.
  • Experience in supplier management.
  • Agile experience and/or qualification.
  • Prince2 certification or equivalent or willing to work towards.

Working on a number of initiatives in our Service Operation Model improving our technical solutions and revolutionising the rail industry in the process. Reporting into one of our Senior Project Managers, you will play a pivotal role in project delivery and collaboration within your given Service. You are accountable for project alignment with the service strategy and driving value through their given projects. Working in Agile & Waterfall methodologies, from initiation through to the end delivery taking into consideration the planning, coordination, implementation, execution, and control of the full digital project.
