Job description
As a Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and governing solutions that are scalable, adaptable, and aligned with changing business needs. You'll work closely with transformation architects, business analysts, and development teams to ensure solutions are delivered iteratively, efficiently, and in line with RMG Architecture principles.
You will be responsible for:
- Translating project blueprints into detailed solution designs.
- Preparing architecture designs that meet requirements and align with target vision.
- Developing technology specifications and leveraging existing technologies for optimal business use.
- Applying architectural concepts to ensure scalability, security, reliability, and flexibility.
- Governing supplier solutions and ensuring alignment across process, application, data, and technology.
- Partnering with business analysts and development teams to deliver solutions iteratively in Agile sprint cycles.
- Educating stakeholders on Agile ways of working and the benefits of iterative delivery.
Key Dimensions
- Budget responsibility: Design of Information Systems with development costs up to £10M and lifetime costs of £50M.
- Impact: Delivering solution designs and integrations within cost, time, and quality parameters.
- Team size: No direct reports, but significant influence across multi-disciplinary teams.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Scrum?, We're looking for someone with:
- Broad knowledge of information technologies and integration methods.
- Strong systems integration experience.
- Ability to communicate complex technical designs to non-technical audiences.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in technical architecture roles across the development lifecycle.
- Experience designing and implementing complex systems architectures in distributed environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise-wide systems architectures.
- Practical experience in service, application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
- Nice to have: Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile transformation.
Qualifications:
- Architecture training/qualifications (e.g., TOGAF certification).
- Agile training/qualifications or experience (Scrum, Kanban).
