Job description
We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team in Salford, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that drive data-driven decision-making across our organisation.
- Design and implement data warehouse solutions and ETL processes to support business intelligence initiatives
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction and analysis
- Create interactive dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Perform data modelling and design to ensure optimal performance of BI systems
- Develop and maintain documentation for BI processes, data dictionaries, and user guides
- Implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity throughout the BI ecosystem
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on BI tools and applications
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the field of business intelligence
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in business intelligence or a related role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing concepts
- Understanding of ETL processes and tools
- Proficient in using business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with data modelling and database design
- Knowledge of Python or R programming for data analysis
- Strong data visualization skills and ability to create compelling, interactive dashboards
- Experience working with large datasets and performing complex data analysis
- Understanding of business processes and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
