Job description

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about data engineering, automation, and cloud technologies. You'll play a key role in supporting the design, automation, and maintenance of ETL / ELT pipelines and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our data infrastructure on AWS. Role Objective

Assist in the development, automation, and maintenance of ETL processes and data pipelines on AWS. Contribute to building and optimizing the data infrastructure, ensuring reliable data ingestion, transformation, and storage from various sources., * Design, automate, and optimize ETL / ELT pipelines using Python and Airflow.

  • Work with AWS services (S3, RDS, ECS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Athena, MWAA) for data storage, processing, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable datasets.
  • Integrate and process data from multiple sources, including internal systems, APIs, and external files.
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to the continuous improvement of data architecture and workflows.

Requirements

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and understanding of cloud computing principles.
  • Proficiency in Python (ETL scripting, libraries such as pandas, requests, Pydantic, boto3 / AWS SDK).
  • Basic understanding of data modelling and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).
  • Familiarity with ETL / ELT principles, Airflow orchestration, and Docker containerization.
  • Experience with GitLab / GitHub for version control.
  • Good command of English and Russian (written and spoken).

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience working with fintech or payments data.
  • Hands-on use of AWS services (Athena, ECS, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch).
  • Experience with API integrations (REST / JSON).
