Data Engineer (Data Platform) sennder Barcelona Software Engineering Remote Full-time ABOUT THE ROLE sennder is Europe's Leading Digital Freight Forwarder. As a Data Engineer in sennder's Platform department, you will play a key role in building and operating the data foundation that powers sennder's logistics intelligence. Our team ensures trust, reliability, and scalability of sennder's data ecosystem - enabling hundreds of engineers, analysts, and data scientists to build data-driven products, optimize operations, and deploy AI at scale. You'll work at the intersection of data engineering, platform reliability, and DevOps, helping sennder safely invest in, deploy, and use AI technologies on top of a world-class data infrastructure. in our Berlin or Barcelona office. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL… * Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and workflows (ETL/ELT) across batch and streaming environments. * Ensure reliability, observability, and scalability of data services through monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery. * Operate and evolve sennder's data warehouse (Snowflake), data marts, and data catalog to support analytics, ML, and operational use cases. * Implement infrastructure as code (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes) to manage and deploy data services in production environments. * Collaborate with Data Analysts, Analytics Engineers, and ML Engineers to deliver clean, discoverable, and compliant datasets. * Support data quality, security, and compliance through testing, monitoring, and automated validation frameworks. * Participate in incident response and post-mortem reviews to continuously improve system reliability and data trust. * Contribute to internal tools and APIs that simplify data access, observability, and experimentation for AI and analytics teams. * Continuously learn and apply new technologies (e.g., streaming, orchestration, observability, LLMOps) to enhance the platform. * Participate in the product prioritization process to ensure the right data initiatives are tackled first. * Continuously learn and apply new technologies to enhance our data platform. PREFERABLY YOU HAVE… * 3+ years of experience in data engineering, platform, or reliability engineering. * Hands-on experience with a data orchestrator (e.g., Dagster, Airflow). * Proven experience building pipelines or backend components in Python or a similar language. * Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and data modeling frameworks (e.g., dbt, SQL, Spark). * Knowledge of DevOps and SRE practices - including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and infrastructure automation. * Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes for deploying robust data services. * Understanding of data architectures, security, and compliance in modern data platforms. * A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and curiosity for enabling others through data and AI.
