Requirements
Do you have experience in Wastewater treatment?, You'll need to be able to switch between the big picture and details quickly. This will include working with your colleagues to ensure we have the data we need to evidence our long-term strategies, such as our Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP), Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) and Long-Term Delivery Strategy (LTDS).
Depending on your experience, this may include developing tools in Python or R to support decision-making. It would also be beneficial if you were able to help upskill the team to improve the ways we work.
What you'll need
Within the team, you will be working alongside a variety of technically skilled people and liaising more broadly within and outside of the business.
You'll need to be technically skilled but also question usual processes to ensure we're using the best data available to provide customers with the assurance that we are providing the best solutions for the environment.
This role will suit someone who has a solid understanding of IT systems/software and can explain the importance of high-quality data within this context.
We are looking for:
- degree qualified or equivalent, possibly with chartered engineer or equivalent status
- excellent oral and written communication skills

- experience in asset management and the role of data science in its application
- programming experience, such as in R, Python, and/or Matlab.

While it would be beneficial, we don't expect you to be an expert in wastewater or the regulatory frameworks that are specific to the water sector!
