Our Product Line In-Vehicle Networking features CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet technologies, facilitating communication across architectures designed for robust, secure, and highly connected autonomous vehicles.
Your Team
You will be part of our Product Development Team, Product Line In-Vehicle Networking, in Nijmegen, Netherlands, who is working rigorously to deliver the best products to market on time while ensuring our brand's reputation for leadership in total quality at optimal cost.
As a Product Engineering PhD, you are in a central position (a spider in the web) in the New IC Product Development. You get to work with all the disciplines needed to design an IC and several external teams to prepare it for mass production. There is a lot of room for new ideas and innovations, and you will be supported to have a continuous focus on development, coaching and creating a supportive environment from your team.
Your Responsibilities
- You design advanced Data Science and Machine Learning tools to provide high-quality solutions for the Product Engineering team.
- You use your AI expertise to automate tasks, such as creating documents based on technical data.
- You design and develop advanced chatbots to assist Product Engineers, utilising NLP and LLMs to deliver accurate, context-aware responses from NXP's internal IC product design databases.
- You build solutions using AI & machine learning based on semiconductor test and characterization data, helping to achieve product quality objectives of optimal zero-defect screening and by continually exploring improved screening techniques to keep pace with market demands.
- You work collaboratively within project teams, assist external stakeholders, and coordinate closely with the team lead to deliver results that are timely, high-quality, and cost-effective.
- You work closely with cross-functional team members and contribute to academic publications and internal innovation initiatives.

Requirements
- MSc with coursework in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science.
- Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and NLP.
- Strong interest & Documented research work in the field of Applied Machine Learning.
- Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face Transformers.
- Proficiency in Python; familiarity with C++ or Java is a plus.
- Ability to parse and process heterogeneous data formats, ascii & binary standards (e.g.,HDF5, protobuf, VCD, , SDF, FSDB, DCF).
- Knowledgeable in advanced neural network architectures such as ResNet, YOLO, and Transformers.
- Proficient in utilizing cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, along with their respective tools for infrastructure management and AI workload deployment.
- Eagerness to further automate PE activities
- Knowledge or coursework in VLSI Design, IC Design, Embedded Systems, Electrical/Electronics Circuits, Semiconductors, or Applied Physics is a plus
