Job description

You will join our engineering team, deploying and maintaining IT services, servers and infrastructure. Your job will include tasks like:

  • Maintain and deploy infrastructure components, Linux-based systems (Redhat-based, managed with SaltStack) and containerised applications, using GitOps principles
  • Maintain and optimise our virtualisation platform
  • Troubleshoot performance issues with the infrastructure
  • Set up and maintain robust monitoring, and centralised logging for all infrastructure components and applications
  • After six months in the IT department, you will participate in our 24/7 standby rotation - shifts are one week every 6-8 weeks, depending on team size (compensated on top of your salary), We are an international team of 10 highly motivated engineers who love our craft. We are responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure for most of the RIPE NCC's services. We work in an Agile environment and rely on good communication and collaboration within our team and organisation.

Requirements

  • Communication: Fluent written and spoken English

  • Team player: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Extensive experience as a system and network engineer
  • Experience building, maintaining and troubleshooting containerised applications.
  • Experience building, maintaining and troubleshooting Linux servers and services.
  • Experience with Infrastructure As Code (Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, etc.)
